FAO-Hungarian Government Scholarship 2022–2023

Education Level: Master

Under the FAO-Hungarian Government Scholarship Programme, the Master of Science degree course in Food safety and quality engineering, which is taught in English, will be offered at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Buda Campus, Budapest for the academic year 2022-2023.

Benefits

Tuition and application fees for the course period with basic notes and books; accommodation; health insurance, and subsistence costs.

All costs outlined above are paid by the Hungarian Government, following the Agreement between Hungary and FAO in 2007.

This scholarship covers student expenses only; family members are not financed within the frame of such scholarship program.

Eligible countries

Residents (who must be citizens) of the countries listed below are eligible to submit applications for this Scholarship:

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo1, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Myanmar, Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Nigeria, North Korea, State of Palestine, the Philippines, Republic of Cabo Verde, Serbia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen. How to Apply and Selection

The process of selection as explained below if for the scholarships commencing in September 2022.

Students will be selected in 2 phases:

Phase one: FAO will pre-screen applicants and send applications to the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary that will submit them to the University as selected by the candidates. Applicants must send only COMPLETE dossiers. Incomplete dossiers will not be taken into consideration. Files with no names will not be processed.

Phase two: Selected applicants may be requested to take a an oral or written English test as part of the admission process. The participating University will conduct a further process of selection and notify every successful candidate. The selection of students will be done by the University only, with no involvement of FAO. Selected candidates will also be informed by the Ministry.

Selection Criteria

Residency and Citizenship of one of the eligible countries,  Motivation, English language proficiency (for courses taught in English), Excellent school achievements, Age (applicants under 30 years old are preferable), and Good health.
