For candidates who have dreamed of doing their postgraduate studies in Europe, especially in France. The great news is that there is a scholarship program known as the Lebesgue Master Scholarship which can remove some financial obstacles during your master’s studies.

The Lebesgue Center together with its partners offers support to Masters in mathematics at the University of Nantes, the University of Rennes 1, the University of Bretagne Sud, the ÉNS Rennes, the University of Angers, and the University of Bretagne Ouest, by means of special lectures and scholarships.

The Lebesgue Master Scholarship is an excellence scholarship offered for the fundamental and applied mathematics pathways by the Henri Lebesgue Center in collaboration with Ambition Lebesgue Loire and the Fondation de Rennes 1.

The Henri Lebesgue Centre awards in-depth training in fundamental and applied mathematics. Various courses are taught every year with a rich set of complements which cover a wide spectrum of today’s mathematics.

Benefits

The scholarship amount is 10.000€ per academic year (i.e. from September 1 until August 31). The scholarship will be paid monthly, from September until June. The internship gratification is also covered, unless the lab pays for such expenses.

Who Should Apply?

The Lebesgue Master Scholarship is offered to candidates registered in the 2nd year of the fundamental mathematics pathway of Masters in Rennes-Brest or in Fundamental and applied mathematics pathways in Nantes-Angers-Vannes. The process of selection considers academic performance of the student as proved by the motivation, the recommendation letters, and the transcripts.

Applications for the M2 scholarships are received from all candidates who have finished the 1st year of a master in mathematics at the ending of the ongoing academic year. Foreign candidates as well as female applicants are particularly encouraged to apply for this scholarship program.

Under the project Ambition Lebesgue Loire, the jury may also assign 1 or 2 fellowships for applicants at M1 (the 1st of the master) in Nantes University. Only candidates from foreign universities will be accepted for such M1 fellowships and they will be reconducted for the 2nd year of the master after being re-examined by the jury of the student grades at the completion of the M1. 

It is important to note that the Ambition Lebesgue Loire project awards scholarship for the first year Master students in Nantes only
