Internship Overview
The OPEC Fund offers an Internship Program in order to enable students from various academic backgrounds to experience work with an international organization.
The OPEC Fund Internship Program takes between 3 and 6 months. This program is designed for:
- Providing a framework in order to support students assigned to any OPEC Fund department so that the focus stays on enriching the experience of the student;
- Providing an immersive experience so that students earn practical experience of working for an international organization; and
- Providing the opportunity for students for understanding the OPEC Fund’s mission, vision and related values.
- Interns are allocated to different units/departments depending on their qualifications and interests, and following departmental needs. The Internship Program gives opportunities for focusing on one or more of the following:private sector and trade finance operations; public sector operations; financial operations; grants; strategic planning and economic services;risk management; human resources; internal audit; legal services; administration; communication, and information technology.
During the internship, interns may be assigned works including writing documents; conducting research; assisting employees with their daily work; and organizing information.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for the OPEC Fund Internship, candidates must meet following criteria:
- Age: Being 19 to 25 years old and registered in an undergraduate program (having finished at least 2 years) or graduate program.
- As an allternative, candidates may be recent graduates, having graduated a maximum of 1 year before the deadline for application.
Applicants also need to meet these requirements:
- Being proficient in English. Knowing other languages like French, Spanish, and Arabic is an asset;
- Being computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office);
- Having keen interest in the work of the OPEC Fund;
- Being able to demonstrate cultural awareness; and
- Being Alable to demonstrate the OPEC Fund’s core values including empowerment, integrity, excellence, community, and innovation.
