Women in Africa (WIA) is launching the 2nd edition of the WIA Young Leaders programme, which is developed in partnership with the global digital leader Huawei, Lazard Frères Investment bank and Christian Dior Couture. Following the success of the first edition, Women in Africa and its partners renew the commitment for supporting and highlighting young African women leaders who will play a major role in the revolution of Africa.

Benefits
The Women in Africa Young Leaders will benefit from a tailor-made training path whose themes will be related to women’s leadership and the skills which are needed for the future. Then, in autumn 2022, the selected candidates will benefit from a “business trip” in a world economic capital:
❶For being trained on boards of directors, career coaching, media training, and other customized
training
❷For connecting with high-level personalities and mentors such as ministers, CEOs,
journalists, accomplished entrepreneurs, and business or public figures.
❸For benefiting from high media visibility
A personalized follow-up will be set up by Women in Africa (WIA) for identifying the individual needs of the Young Leaders and for responding with precision to the progression of their skills.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:
❶Willingness to reconcile business conduct, public/private dialogue, and social impact.
❷Age: Women with age between 25 and 40 years old (flexibility possible based on experience level)
❸Vision of what Africa should be in the future.
❹Anglophone, Francophone, ideally bilingual.
❺Involvement in the social commitment and continental development
❻Strong convincing skills combined with a taste for teamwork.
❼Special consideration will be given to applicants with “self-made” backgrounds
❽Being able to take on responsibilities at the highest level.
❾Having parents born in an African country or born in an African country.
❿Leadership skills (resilience, empathy and humility).

Important Dates
The call for applications for the WIA Young Leaders programme opened on March 17, 2022 and is expected to close on April 15, 2022 at midnight (French time).
