If yes, the good news is that there are various admission scholarships awarded to qualified candidates at the University of Macau at different educational levels (i.e. undergraduate, master, or doctoral).

Once admitted at the University of Macau , there are various scholarship programs which can be granted to outstanding applicants at the university. The scholarship package and eligibility guideline vary by educational level as outlined in the next sections of this article.

Benefits and Study Period

Concerning the value and duration of the admission scholarships offered at the University of Macau.

▶ For bachelor: The benefits include a waiver of honours College certificate programme fee (if applicable); tuition fee; residential College fee (shared bedroom); and minor programme fee (if applicable). The maximum duration of the Scholarship is the normal period of study for the admitted program, which is four or five years.

▶ For master: The benefits include a waiver of postgraduate House (twin room) fee; and tuition fee. The maximum duration of the Scholarship is the normal period of study for the admitted program, which is two or three years.

▶For doctoral: The benefits include a conference or research-related travel allowance up to MOP10,000 per academic year, and monthly stipend of MOP20,000. The maximum duration of the scholarship is four years. Please note that tuition and/or any other kinds of fees that may incur during the course of your studies will not be included in the scholarship.

Who Should Apply?

Applicants for the University of Macau Admission Scholarships need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

▶ For international Student Scholarship (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs): International candidates applying for full-time Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs of University of Macau meeting the admission criteria of the respective degree program. Eligible applicants will be automatically taken into consideration for the scholarship. There is no need to submit a separate application for this scholarship program.

Please note that if the nationality of a candidate is China (comprising Macao SAR, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan China) is not considered as an international candidate.

▶ UM Macao PhD Scholarship: Candidates for full-time PhD Degree Programs of University of Macau, regardless of their country of origin, ethnic background, and prior work experience, are eligible to submit their applications. The applicant need to have bachelor or master degree with proven academic records, comprising publications, academic awards, degree certificate(s), etc. The top-ranked candidates with outstanding academic potential or achievements will be chosen for the scholarship.
