EJ4Climate Grant Program

Are you interested in Environmental Justice and Climate Resilience? Do you have a project proposal about such subjects? If yes, the chances are that you may be a good fit for the EJ4Climate Grant Program. Of course, you must meet all eligibility requirements as indicated in this article.

The EJ4Climate Grant Program offers funding directly to community-based organizations and seeks to support environmental justice by facilitating the involvement and empowerment of communities which search for solutions and the development of partnerships for addressing their environmental and human health vulnerabilities, comprising those resulting from climate change effects.

Who Should Apply?

The CEC established this grant program in 2021 in order to fund projects which target underserved and vulnerable communities, and Indigenous communities, in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, in order to prepare them for impacts related to climate.

For the EJ4Climate Grant Program, the CEC is calling for projects proposals advancing:

  • Community resilience: Supporting community resilience to climate change and climate-related impacts.
  • Local participation: Benefiting underserved and vulnerable communities, and/or Indigenous communities, and ensure the meaningful participation of local residents.
  • Tangible results: Including a sound implementation plan, that identifies actors, actions, beneficiaries, goals, and tangible, measurable results.
  • Partnerships: Creating formal or informal partnerships, collaborations or linkages among relevant stakeholders

Important Dates

Proposals due date is 11 November 2022 5:00 PM EST. The evaluation of grant applications deadline is November 2022-January 2023. The official grants announcement deadline is February 2023. The project implementation begins in March 2023, and the Projects maximum end dates being March 2025.
