Education Level: Undergraduate/Postgraduate Students, University Graduates
Are you from the African Union Member State? Are you a full-time student currently in the last year of the Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programs or a graduate of Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and PhD? If the answers are yes, the good news is that there is an internship program known as the African Union Internship (AU internship program) which is given to outstanding candidates who want to do their internships for professional development while serving the community in Africa. Of course, suitable individuals must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in this article.

The African Union Internship is a full-time engagement through which qualified candidates with diverse academic backgrounds are offered the opportunity for gaining professional exposure within the African Union (AU). As the African Union is an organization promoting respect for diversity and team work, all qualified individuals are encouraged to submit their applications for the African Union Internship.

Internship Duration
Regarding the internship period, for the internship to be effective and worthwhile as well, interns will be accepted for a minimum period of three months, with the possibility of internship extension for another three months considering the performance of the applicant and the willingness of the host Department/Division/Unit.

Who Should Apply?
The Program is open to applicants who are:
- Age: between 22 and 32 at the time of application;
- Fluent in one of the African Union official working languages (Arabic, English, French or Portuguese, Kishwahili);
- Meeting the requirements specified in the terms of reference
- Nationals of the African Union’s Member States;
- Students enrolled in full-time undergraduate (in final year of study)/ postgraduate study or graduates from a recognized institution of learning.
