In order to be considered for the MEXT (UR) Scholarship at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, applicants must firstly submit their applications to APU. APU will then select eligible candidates to recommend to the scholarship organization.

Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is offered to candidates meeting these requirements: (1) Intend to study abroad in Japan from overseas, (2) Being a national of a MEXT designated country, (3) Being born on or after April 2, 1989, and (4) Having achieved a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at their most recent university.

Benefits

The scholarship covers the (1) full admission fee, (2) 100% of tuition (covered by the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship), (3) 144,000 JPY per month for living expenses (amount subject to change), and (4) economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program.
