ARES – Academy of Research and Higher Education – is offering international training scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year. The application period opens on August 4, 2025, and closes on September 19, 2025, at 12 p.m. Belgian time (UTC+1).
These scholarships cover a range of programs, including a specialized bachelor’s degree, ten specialized master’s programs, and six continuing education courses. Applicants must be permanent residents working in one of the 31 eligible countries, with an exception for Palestinian nationals. Required qualifications include a relevant diploma comparable to Belgian higher education standards and at least two years of professional experience in an ARES partner country.
Applications are submitted online through the GIRAF platform. Candidates must create or use an existing validated account to access and complete the application form. Once submitted, applications cannot be modified. A detailed guide for applicants is available on the platform.
The scholarship covers international travel costs, a living allowance, visa-related expenses, tuition fees for bachelor and master programs, indirect mission costs for continuing education, and insurance. Program durations are up to 12 months for bachelor and master courses and 2–6 months for continuing education programs.
Eligible countries include partners in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and the Palestinian territories.
