Resident waivers: Cover full or partial in-state tuition (excluding fees)

Non-resident waivers: Cover full or partial out-of-state tuition (excluding fees)

Eligibility and application processes vary by academic unit.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships provide funding while offering professional experience. Students work 10–20 hours per week in academic programs, service offices, or at-large university positions.

Full-time (20 hrs/week): 100% tuition remission (excluding fees), health insurance premium waiver, stipend ($15,000 for master’s, $18,000 for doctoral)

Part-time (10 hrs/week): 50% tuition remission and stipend

Teaching and research assistantships are also offered. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Out-of-State Tuition Savings

NAU participates in WICHE programs for eligible western states and territories:

Funding is managed by the student’s home state and is limited.
