Open Positions at the University of Eastern Finland

The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for several exciting opportunities in research, teaching, and administration. With campuses in Kuopio and Joensuu, the university offers a flexible working environment across multiple disciplines.

Currently, there are multiple doctoral researcher positions available within the Faculty of Health Sciences in Kuopio. These include the Doctoral Programmes in Molecular Medicine, Clinical Research, Health Sciences, and Drug Research, all with an application deadline of 29 August 2025.

The Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology in Joensuu is offering a Doctoral Researcher position in Nano-optoelectronics, with applications open until 31 August 2025. Additionally, a Doctoral Researcher/Project Researcher position in Neurosciences at the A.I. Virtanen Institute in Kuopio closes on 1 September 2025. The same deadline applies for 15 doctoral researcher positions in Joensuu or Kuopio under the Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology.

In Joensuu, the Philosophical Faculty is recruiting seven doctoral researchers, with applications due by 4 September 2025. The Department of Environmental and Biological Sciences is also seeking both a Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researcher in Evolutionary Cell Biology and Bioinformatics, with applications closing on 8 September 2025.

Several neuroscience positions are available at the A.I. Virtanen Institute in Kuopio, including doctoral and project researcher roles in Neurosciences and Computational Neuroscience, with a deadline of 15 September 2025.

For those interested, postdoctoral opportunities in Computing, Medical Technologies, and Evolutionary Cell Biology are also open. Candidates who do not find a suitable role can submit an open application for research, teaching, or support staff positions.
