Scholarship Opportunities at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies offers a range of scholarships every academic year to support outstanding and deserving students pursuing both master’s and doctoral programs. These scholarships are designed to attract qualified candidates from Qatar, the Arab region, and beyond, making high-quality education accessible while fostering academic excellence.

Scholarships for Master’s Programs

At the master’s level, students may apply for two main types of scholarships:

Tamim Scholarship and Sanad Scholarship.

  • Tamim Scholarship: Awarded on the basis of merit and academic distinction, this scholarship is available to Qatari, resident, and international students from across the Arab world. Benefits include full tuition coverage. For international students outside Qatar, it also covers accommodation in Doha Institute dormitories, a monthly stipend, and health insurance.
  • Sanad Scholarship: This scholarship is based on financial need and is open to Qatari, resident, and international students. Coverage ranges from 10% to 100% of tuition fees. International students may also receive free accommodation, a stipend, and health insurance.
To apply, all admitted students receive the scholarship application form from the Admissions Office. Completed applications must be submitted with the required official documents.
Terms and Conditions include maintaining good academic standing to continue receiving support, and scholarships cannot be combined with other funding sources. These scholarships do not apply to Executive Masters, Diploma programs, or students who have previously benefited from Doha Institute scholarships.

Scholarships for Doctoral Programs

Doctoral students may apply for scholarships aligned with the program’s three phases: coursework, prospectus, and dissertation.
  • First Phase: Covers tuition for two semesters of coursework, granted to students unable to afford doctoral studies and without other scholarships.
  • Second Phase: Supports one academic year of full-time prospectus work, provided the student maintains a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Third Phase: Supports up to two years of dissertation writing, extendable with approval, contingent on passing the comprehensive exam.
Doctoral scholarship recipients may be required to work with the Institute in research, teaching, or other areas, typically 10–15 hours per week depending on the scholarship type.
Terms and Conditions specify that scholarships cannot be combined with other funding without prior approval. Students must meet academic requirements and fulfill work commitments to remain eligible.
