Grants by Association of Commonwealth Universities

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is once again opening applications for the Human Resources in Higher Education (HR in HE) Community Grants. Applications are open from 2 September 2025 to 4 November 2025 (15:00 UTC). These grants are designed to support HR practitioners at ACU member universities, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of good practices in the evolving world of higher education.

The grants may be used for a wide range of activities, including attending HR conferences, delivering training, co-creating HR policies, hosting webinars, benchmarking good practices, and conducting research projects. Both virtual and in-person initiatives are eligible. Awardees are expected to submit a report after completing their projects.

With a total budget of GBP 10,000, the scheme allows applicants to request the funding amount best suited to their initiative. While collaboration between ACU member universities and additional matched funding are viewed positively, they are not mandatory.

To apply, applicants must be staff members working in human resources at an ACU member university. Applications are submitted through the ACU’s online system, and new users must first create a MyACU account.
The HR in HE Community provides an invaluable space for HR professionals to connect, share knowledge, and strengthen HR functions across the Commonwealth.
